Sportshall Athletics Partnership Final
Well done to all those who took part in the first ever Lincolnshire Central School Sports Partnership Sportshall Athletics Final on Wednesday 28th January. The final took place at St Georges Technology College, Sleaford and included over 18 primary schools and over 130 children. Each child got to take part in 3 events with their best scores in each counting towards the team total.
Prior to the final, 7 festivals had been held at each of the local Secondary schools to select the 7 teams. This gave 35 primary schools the opportunity to nominate their highest scoring athletes to attend these festivals and represent their cluster. All of the 7 teams taking part therefore had a combination of the top scoring athletes from 3 to 6 Primary schools. The 7 teams who competed at the final were:
Carre's Cluster - Church Lane, Rauceby and William Alvey primary schools.
St Georges Cluster - Our Lady of Good Councel, Heckington, Helpringham and St Botolphs primary schools.
Lafford Cluster - Metheringham, Billinghay and Mrs Mary King primary schools.
Gartree Cluster - Tattershall, Holy Trinity and St Michael's schools.
Aveland Cluster - Billingborough, Osbournby, Browns and St. Gilbert of Sempringham primary schools
Cotelands Cluster -
Kesteven and Sleaford High Cluster - Kirkby-la-Thorpe and Ancaster primary schools,
The festival included field events such as Vertical Jump, Standing Long Jump, Javelin, Speed Bounce, Chest Push and 6 different track events.
